BOOM and a BANG. Hi, 2025!
I feel so fortunate.
While 2024 was truly chaotic personally, I grew so much as a person and writing artist. This has made 2025 something amazing for me and, hopefully, my fellow creatives. Here is an update on my adventures with an invitation for you!
Publications. This year started with three publications I am incredibly proud of: “Hi, Royal You” in TriQuarterly, a reprint of my first Pushcart-nominated poem, “The Night Before the Inauguration” in Poetic Pathways (published by Bronx Poet Laureate Kay Bell) debut zine, and “Why Readers Love Dark Romance” in The Saturday Evening Post. This all culminated with the news that my next book, face-to-faces, coming out with Thirty West Publishing House in the spring of 2026. Look for upcoming words with Inkwell Literary Journal, Poets Afloat Anthology, and TEDx Salon.
Readings. Last year was the year of the readings, which was incredible. Like Stevie Nicks once said, “I’ll tour until the day I die.” While I will not be going on tour this summer (looking at you summer 2026…), I did have a phenomenal reading at the KGB Bar Monday Night series last month. Upcoming, I will be reading some excerpts from a memoir project I am working on with Must Love Memoir Reading Series on April 8th and more poetry with Poor Mouth Writers’ Night at An Beal Bocht in Riverdale on June 11th.
Projects. Adverse Abstraction has started its fourth season! This year we’ll have features with the likes of Nicole Cooley, Jared Harel, Mei-mei Berssenbrugge, and Sonia Mukherji. Verse & Vision continues to grow with another installment at IndyFringe and an upcoming visiting micro-residency at Dada in NYC. Outside of being a producer for these two projects, I am contributing to the efforts of CrossBoro’s Spring Festival’s open mic, apply here for one or more of their three event dates in April.
Wanna be a featured artist for Adverse Abstraction in NYC? Or are you an artist outside of NYC who wants to collaborate on a performative set for Verse & Vision? Then please message me!
Let’s keep supporting each other in 2025 as we will all need.
Big year for you!
