Greetings! There are some fun summer updates I am thrilled to embark on that include a rerelease with a European phenomenon, a cross-country book tour featuring a slam crew, and an eclectic fringe show. Wanna join me?
Book launch! I’m excited to share that the rerelease of my first collection is happening in just a few weeks. On Friday, May 17 at Otto’s Shrunken Head immediately following an Adverse Abstraction featuring Zora Satchell, John Leo, and Sylvia Thomas will be my book launch celebration. It’ll be a special treat with Laura Hinton, Neda Zahraie, allia abdullah-matta, and Rosebud Ben-Oni reading. Stop in for a signed copy of EXHIBIT: an amended woman, depose.
Book tour! Kicking off in NYC at the book launch at Otto’s, John Leo (Night Gallary) and I will be going on a joint book tour through the Midwest making stops in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Minnesota. This is my first little book tour and I couldn’t be more excited to read with each city’s special features including Cecily Chen, Andrew Romriell, Skyler Barnes, Chantel Massey, Sophie Salnero, and the Volta Slam team! Plus, a collab event with ThirtyWest! And don’t get me started on the incredible venues… which now include Poets House on May 18 at 2 PM!
IndyFringe! Corey Ewing of VOCAB & Artists At Work and I are collaborating on an IndyFringe show this year titled Verse & Vision. This variety show will consist of paired acts with one poet and one visual artist to create a multifaceted creative experience for the audience. I’ve spent many years adoring IndyFringe and I cannot wait to become part of its legacy. If you’re in Indianapolis between August 15-22 please stop through!
If you’ve made it this far, thank you! Thank you for your support and I hope I get to thank you in person at one of these upcoming events. In recent history more than ever, I have learned the importance of art and what it can do for us all.
